Epic 10,000-Mile Journey: Singaporean Maritime Giant Completes Massive FPSO Transport to Angola
Singapore’s PACC Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) has successfully completed an extraordinary transoceanic towing operation, transporting a massive floating production storage and offloading vessel from China to Angola across more than 10,000 nautical miles.
The FPSO Agogo, operated by Yinson Production, has arrived at Block 15/06 offshore Angola where it will serve Azule Energy’s Agogo Integrated West Hub project. This strategic deployment will unlock the potential of the Agogo and Ndungu fields, with Azule Energy anticipating production commencement in the second half of 2025, ramping up to 175,000 barrels per day.
POSH’s high-performance anchor handling towing vessels – POSH Eagle, POSH Hawk, and POSH Osprey – successfully managed the complex logistics of relocating the 330-meter-long vessel weighing over 300,000 metric tonnes. The FPSO, with production capacity of 120,000 barrels per day, features cutting-edge carbon-reduction technologies including the industry’s first pilot post-combustion carbon capture system.
The maritime convoy navigated challenging sea and weather conditions during the extensive voyage that began from Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry shipyard in China over two months ago, with a strategic pit stop in Namibia for supply replenishment and crew changes before reaching its final destination on May 16.
Eric Ng, Head of Offshore Projects at POSH, highlighted that this milestone demonstrates the company’s proven expertise in managing complex, long-haul towing operations across different regions, consistently providing clients with robust and dependable offshore logistics solutions.
