Global energy company Eni has successfully launched its ninth LNG cargo from the Republic of Congo, marking a significant milestone in its operations. This achievement brings the company’s total LNG production and export from the Congolese market to one million cubic meters.
The announcement was made on March 25 during the opening ceremony of the inaugural Congo Energy & Investment Forum in Brazzaville. Andrea Barberi, Managing Director of Eni Congo, emphasized the importance of this accomplishment, stating, “Today, we are proud to be part of this new sector in the Republic of Congo.”
The successful delivery follows the final investment decision made a year ago to initiate the Congo LNG project. Looking ahead, the project’s second phase is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, expanding the total liquefaction capacity to approximately 4.5 billion cubic meters annually.
