The Dangote Refinery has resumed sales of petrol in naira, cutting the gantry price to N865/litre, down from N880. This fresh price drop, confirmed via official communication to marketers, could signal nationwide relief at the pumps.
This move follows the Federal Executive Council’s directive to implement the Crude and Refined Product Sales in Naira initiative—a policy designed to reduce dollar dependency and boost local refining.
While some marketers face losses on old stock, many hail the development as a step toward price stability. Fuel stations like MRS and Ardova are expected to adjust pump prices accordingly.
