The UK’s Crown Agents Bank and investment platform Invest Africa have announced the launch of “The Payments Exchange” campaign. The campaign is a cross-border payments tool designed to facilitate greater access to investment opportunities, while improving the flow of money across Africa.

Poised to drive economic growth on the continent, The Payments Exchange will facilitate optimized payment mechanisms and infrastructure, while advancing trade and investment between the continent and the rest of the world.

“Through our collaboration with Crown Agents Bank, we are committed to amplifying the conversation around payments, fostering collaboration and championing initiatives that will enhance financial inclusion and enable businesses to thrive in Africa,” stated Invest Africa CEO Chantelé Carrington.

The Payments Exchange series aims to attract investors, market leaders and senior decision-makers across various sectors to explore the role of payments and foreign exchange in meeting the ambitions set by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). With the stated goal of reducing tariffs and improving trade facilitation and services in Africa, the AfCFTA seeks to boost the continent’s trading position in the global market.

According to Head of Banks and BBFIs at Crown Agents Bank, Chris Partridge, the campaign will “[catalyze] dialogue and action to empower Africa’s economic evolution through optimized payments infrastructure.”
