Gov. MaiMala Buni of Yobe has ordered the complete shutdown of all public and private schools to prevent spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.
This followed the recent pandemic outbreak of Coronavirus globally and particularly in Nigeria.
A government statement issued on Monday in Damaturu directed the schools to shut down from March 26 to April 26, 2020.
The statement was signed by Dr Muhammad Idriss, the state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.
It urged all principals and head teachers of the affected schools to comply with the directive immediately.
The governor extended his appreciation to all parents and guardians for their support and understanding in the state under this trying period and charged them to pray fervently to Almighty Allah to wipe away the pandemic globally. (NAN)
