The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says it will further support Enugu State Government to contain the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

An NCDC official, Mr Tajudeen Arowolo, made the assertion on Wednesday in Enugu while addressing the newsmen after a meeting between officials of the centre and Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Arowolo is the Leader of the NCDC Multi-Sectorial Rapid Response team in the state.

He said that they would make recommendations to the management of the centre based on their findings.

Arowolo explained that such recommendations would lead to further assistance by the NCDC to the state government on how best to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The NCDC added that the body was satisfied with the safety measures deployed by the state government to contain the spread of the scourge.

He commended the government for its support to the State Multi-Sectorial Rapid Response team in the discharge of its duties.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NCDC officials are in Enugu in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
