The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) in collaboration with ActionAid has introduced continuing education for the youth of Gofidna community in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The Director, Federal Capital Territory Department of Mass Education (FCTDME), Hajia Hajarat Alayande, gave an assurance that FCTDME will establish a Continuing Education Center for the community, if given the opportunity to do so.

The representative of Alayande quoted the head of department, Planning Research and Statistics FCTDME, Mrs Esther Akinje, as saying the youth should brace up to the task and reality of things happening around the world.

She said youth are key in the transformational development of every country.

“We also have skill acquisition training for those who are willing to learn and do not wish to appear in a classroom.

“We have different types of skills by our facilitators like soap making, tourism and hospitality, catering and confectionaries, sewing, hijab making etc. Earlier this year, the paint our learners made was used to facelift our building,” she said.
