Republic of Congo – In a major leap toward energy transformation, Tinda Energy has signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) agreement with Chinese engineering giant Complant to establish a 56-megawatt solar power plant in the Ignié Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The project scope includes not only the solar plant itself but also vital infrastructure such as transmission lines and access roads. This move sets the stage for intense negotiations with creditors as execution plans are being finalized.

“This project stands as a powerful testament to our energy transition journey. Solar and biomass integration will drive sustainable industrial growth in our SEZ,” declared Jean-Marc Thystère-Tchicaya, Congo’s Minister for SEZs and Economic Diversification.

He Haishan, Deputy GM of Complant, emphasized the venture’s importance: “This marks a transformative step toward optimizing our energy mix and promoting development in the region.”
