Angola is taking decisive steps to cement its place as a global energy leader. Energy giants TotalEnergies and ExxonMobil have entered into a landmark agreement with Angola’s National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency (ANPG) to conduct exploratory studies in the Free Areas of Blocks 17/06 and 32/21. Should these studies prove successful, the ANPG will finalize concession contracts, unlocking fresh opportunities in Angola’s upstream oil sector.

This agreement is part of a broader surge in energy deals as investors expand their footprint in Angola. Backed by forward-thinking policies, these initiatives aim to attract substantial investments to the country’s resource-rich blocks. The upcoming Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) conference, scheduled for September 3-4 in Luanda, will spotlight these advancements. The event promises to connect investors with untapped block opportunities, foster collaborations, and position Angola as a competitive player in the global energy arena.
