Anambra Governorship Election Live Updates
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, about 2.5 million are registered voters and 18 political parties will be participating in the exercise.
POLITICS NIGERIA is on ground to monitor and give live updates from the Anambra elections. The state has over 4 million in population with 21 local governments with over 5,700 polling units.
People are expected to turn out for the exercise although this may not be possible due to the incessant violence in the build-up to today.
Several people have been killed as security agencies battle the militia arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, the Eastern security network(ESN).This is believed to have caused some voter apathy.
