The Civil Society of Nigeria revealed that Ajaokuta steel project will give 60,000 employment to Nigeria. The president, Africa Citizens Development Foundation, Lagos Otumba Dele Ajayi- Smith made this revelation at the National Conference on Ajaokuta Steel Project and President Muhammadu Buhari Industrialization Agenda on Thursday at the Military resource centre Abuja.

Otumba who was also the chairman of the occasion said that the Steel Project will bring technical development. Adding that the Ajaokuta steel will be completed and commission before May 2023 according to the minister of Mine and steel.

While appreciating the president of Nigeria effort from saving Nigeria from calamity for the past 6 years, Otumba cited that the steel project is 98% completed and so the CSO is giving the president 98% pass mark.

The DG, Institute for Governance and Leadership Studies in Africa- Abuja, Dr Lanre Adebayo stated that the conference cannot only be reemphasized but strategic for strong foundation.

According to Dr Lanre Ajaokuta is a major component for industrial sector, adding that one of the major role of the conference is to galvanized on how to make the project work and actualized .

On his own part, the Minister of Science and Technology and Innovation Ogbonnaya Onu who was represented by. Engr, Dr Mohammed Jibrin stated that the ministry has a mainstay in Ajaokuta . He added that Nigeria has been depending on Agriculture and oil for its revenues, hence made Nigeria not to developed other sectors but presently the president Buhari is repositioning Nigeria industrial sector which has high capacity of employment.

The Minister assured that the president will revive Ajaokuta to 98% , and the cardinal objective is to develop Ajaokuta through science and technology in order to sustain economic development of Nigeria .

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha who was represented by the SA to the SGF Mr Alias Benjamin who declared the occasion open said that president Buhari has promised to turn Nigeria into industrial country while noting moribund of the sector, he said Nigeria sector has degraded .

He noted that infrastructure is a key index because it effect productivity.
