As of August 26, the confirmed Covid-19 case total from 55 African countries has reached 1,203,094.
Reported deaths in Africa have reached 28,289 and recoveries 930,536.
South Africa has the most reported cases – 613,017, with deaths numbering 13,308. Other most-affected countries include Egypt (97,619), Morocco (54,528), Nigeria (52,800) and Ghana (43,717).
The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
