As of December 23, 2021, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached  9,304,979 while over  178,613,238 vaccinations have been administered across the continent.

Reported deaths in Africa reached  226,531 and  8,386,557 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases  3,353,106 and  90,587 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (  953,724 ), Tunisia (  721,797 ), Libya  (  383,445 ), Ethiopia (  382,371 ), Egypt (  377,960 ) and Kenya (  270,899
