PetroNor E&P has set a new single-lifting record at its PNGF Sud field offshore Congo, delivering 964,593 barrels of entitlement oil in its latest lifting — a figure that included a significant overlift of more than 500,000 barrels.

The record comes despite a challenging first quarter in which production efficiency held at 86% rather than full capacity, following an infrastructure interruption that forced nearly half the field’s wells offline for up to 16 days in February. Once repairs were completed, daily gross output capacity at the end of the first quarter surged past 31,000 barrels of oil per day (net 5,200 bopd), with the five-well infill programme in Tchibouela East playing a pivotal role in the production uplift.

First quarter average net working interest production reached 4,721 bopd, up from 4,564 bopd in the preceding quarter and 4,303 bopd in the first quarter of 2025.

The lifted barrels will be sold over coming months at an entitlement rate of around 100,000 barrels per month, with the realised sales price to be determined by current market conditions under the lifting contract with ADNOC. The final price will be announced at the end of April.

PetroNor’s 2024 lifting performance saw a 90% improvement over its prior-year average, reflecting the company’s sustained focus on field optimisation and inventory management at the Congo asset.
