Energy and marine consultancy ABL has been selected to provide marine warranty survey services for the fourth development phase of the Kamose gas field, located in the Mediterranean Sea offshore Egypt. The contract, awarded by North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO), covers the Eastern flank of the Nile Delta.
ABL’s scope of work includes the technical review and approval of all project documentation, procedures, drawings and calculations, as well as marine assurance and risk services for the proposed fleet — including dynamic positioning (DP) trials. The Phase 4 development envisions the construction and installation of three new offshore production monopod platforms, named Hoor-1&2, KSE-1, and Snefru-1, together with the drilling of three wells and the installation of an 11-kilometre flowline connecting production to the existing offshore network. The new infrastructure will ultimately be integrated with the mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) already in place at the Kamose field.
ABL will also provide on-site attendance to witness and approve all warranted transportation and installation (T&I) operations for the Phase 4 offshore facilities. “ABL Egypt brings together local competence, marine experience, engineering expertise and expert process safety engineering to provide a comprehensive offering that will support the safe and optimised delivery of T&I operations for Kamose Phase 4,” said Tamer Gamil, ABL’s Country Manager in Egypt.
