Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has reported a significant production milestone at the Zelten oil field, where subsidiary Sirte Oil Company has completed a new horizontal well delivering output exceeding 2,000 barrels per day.

The C345H well targeted the Zelten (L4) reservoir and features a horizontal section of more than 1,300 feet. The company deployed advanced directional drilling and high-precision geosteering technologies in its completion. Testing last week confirmed a flow rate of over 2,000 bpd.

NOC described the result as a significant step in modernising field development, noting that horizontal drilling techniques are increasingly becoming the preferred technical option across Libyan fields after demonstrating superior efficiency and production rates compared to conventional methods.
