Alexandria Mineral Oils Company has signed a joint agreement with Middle East Oil Refinery to upgrade the quality of AMOC’s production to meet international standards, increasing the supply of high-quality diesel to Egypt’s domestic market by approximately 350,000 tons. The agreement forms part of a comprehensive plan to enhance integration among petroleum sector companies and aligns with directives from Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi to accelerate high-value integrated projects.
AMOC, established in 1997 and listed on the Egyptian Exchange in 2004, produces various products including paraffin wax, automatic transmission oils, base oil, transformer oils, and fuel oils across two complexes: one for lubricants and other oils, and a second for gas oil production. AMOC currently sends fuel to MIDOR for refining.
MIDOR, located in the Ameryia specialized free zone in Alexandria, operates 16 production units with a maximum refining capacity of 100,000 barrels per day.
