Beijing has rolled out policies to support businesses to resume work while suspending resumption in venues with poor ventilation and crowds, local authorities said.
Venues with poor ventilation and prone to draw large crowds such as performance venues, clubs, internet cafes, theaters, and museums are required to suspend work resumption.
According to the Beijing municipal development and reform commission, the city’s economic planner, large sports events and exhibitions are also required to be suspended.
Beijing has allowed businesses closely related to people’s livelihood such as restaurants, grocery shops, beauty salons, convenience stores and repair shops to resume work and production at their own discretion.
“Though approval is not needed for these businesses, that does not mean there’s no obligation and supervision,” said Li Sufang, deputy head of the commission.
“The businesses should only resume work and production after implementing prevention and control measures.”
