A member of the House of Representatives, and All Pogressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Taraba South Danjuma Shidd has called for the released of the Director General (DG) of his campaign council from police custody .
The lawmaker, representing, Wukari/Ibi Federal constituency, of Taraba State made the demand on Thursday, explaining that the DG of his campaign council was arrested on allegation that he was inciting the public as he protested the removal of his campaign banners.
According to the lawmaker, the arrest was targeted at him as a senatorial candidate running against the incumbent Governor for the same seat.
“I have come to let you know that we will do everything legally to ensure that democracy thrive in Taraba. We will follow up all the legal process to ensure we get justice,” he said.
He stressed that he would use all legal means to free the DG, adding that the country is in a democracy and would ensure the illegal arrest and detention did not stand
He disclosed that the trial court has placed a bail condition of N50 million and Secretaries in the State as a bail condition.
