The presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, (Wazirin Adamawa) paid homage to the Emir of Zazzau and chairman Kaduna state Council of Emirs and Chiefs, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli at his palace in Zaria City on Saturday.
Our correspondent reports that the visit of the former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate was informed by his arrival to Kaduna state on interactive session with Arewa Joint committee which includes the following groups; Arewa Consultative Forum, Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation, Arewa Elders Forum and jam’iyyar Matan Arewa in a programme designed by the committee to sit with presidential candidates of various political parties at Arewa House Kaduna.
Alhaji Atiku told the the Emir that he was before him to seek royal blessing and prayer before going to the Venue the as mark of respect for leaders and elders, saying, “the words of elders are words of wisdom,” hence the need for him pay the visit to the Emir as a father to all.
Responding, the Emir said that this was the second time the former Vice President was visiting him.
He explained that he visited some couple months to congratulate him after his installation as the 19th Emir of the Emirate.
