The Nigerian government, through its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, has announced April 25, 2025, as the official date for commissioning several CNG distribution refueling stations in multiple locations across the country. These facilities will be established in Enugu, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lokoja in Kogi State, Port Harcourt in Rivers State, Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State, and in Abia State.
In a comprehensive statement signed by Kenechukwu Chukwu, Technical Assistant for Stakeholder Management and Public Engagement, the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) also revealed that the phase one flagoff of the tricycle deployment program, which will be performed by the Federal Ministry of Youths, is scheduled for April 15.
The statement further announced April 4, 2025, as the date for signing the Arete Mini-LNG Project Investment agreement, valued at $6 million. This significant investment aims to drive the expansion of CNG infrastructure to northern Nigeria.
